Empowerment: #GivingHELPTuesday

Empowerment: “The process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights.”  As HELP Foundation’s many supporters know; we strive to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities each and every day.  To us, empowerment is job training and employment with fair pay, continuous education, living as independently as possible, and contributing to the community.
To ensure our continued success in empowering our consumers, we have to be sure to stay in motion with our fleet of handicap accessible vans. Whether we’re taking consumers to medical appointments, work, day programs or school, without our vans we cannot provide consumers with the vital services they need.  Because our vans are continuously on the road, and provide transportation to numerous individuals they see a great deal of wear and tear.
This is where we invite you to help us empower!  The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is referred to as Giving Tuesday.  Giving Tuesday is a movement to create an international day of giving at the beginning of the holiday season.  For this special day, we’re rallying together to raise $5,000 to help offset the cost of two new handicap accessible vans we must purchase.
On Tuesday, November 28th, please visit helpfoundationinc.org and make a donation!  Once your donation is made, hop online and invite your friends on social media to do the same by using #GivingHELPTuesday in your post to help raise awareness!

Spooktacular Happenings!

Friday, October 20, 2018 HELP Foundation partnered with the Euclid YMCA to put on our first ever Halloween Dance.  We danced the night way to Halloween songs, line dances and we even had a special serenade by April who sang Mariah Carey's hit, "Hero" to the crowd.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Euclid YMCA for providing us with the space for our party and to 13 Recordings for playing our favorite songs all evening.

The night before Halloween we hosted a spooky party for friends and family at our Six Chimney's location.   We had dinner, made scary masks, danced and mingled.

Finally, on all hallows eve, the Adult Day Program executed their handmade haunted house.  Every inch of scariness was created by consumers including creepy masks on the walls, flying ghosts and a grave yard!  Remember us painting that glowing background in the picture on the right?  We posted about it on social media on October 11th.  It looks so much more frightening in the dark with a goblin!
