Christmas & New Year with Family and Friends!

After 7 months we are getting reunited with most of our kids and our grandsons while on a 20 day visit to CA!  We were welcomed with smiling faces and lots of hugs after arriving at San Francisco airport and taking the BART to Walnut Creek.  There, we found the whole Hanson family and happy Hanson boys in a Target/Starbucks! Maverick, Greyson and Caedmon were all anxiously awaiting for our arrival.

We visited with them last Friday and Saturday and then flew on to LAX where our son Kevin picked us up and took us to Murrieta.  It was a good time to catch up with him.  We stayed through Tuesday with our good friends Jonathan & Jennifer Stout and their boys.  We picked up Jason and Kelly at LAX on Tuesday night and traveled to Banning to be with my mother Patricia through Christmas.

A Time for Everything!

We are told in Ecclesiastes 3 there is a time for everything in its season.  This is a very true statement and a difficult thing to be patient for.  Yet, we are thankful and rejoicing and have also found the following applicable and fun family things ... a time for reuniting, a time for playing at the park, a time for snuggles, a time for reading a book with Mimi, a time for wrestling & "hopping on top of Papa", a time for going to dinner and catching up on life's events & future plans and a time to visit a live Nativity display in Martinez, CA!

And Now For Something Completely Different!

While we waited for our next flight in Taipei, Taiwan, some rather funny airlines we've never heard of before were there. Scoot Airlines went taxiing by and several Hello Kitty planes too. Having never flown through Taipei, we were quite impressed with the airport's efficiency and its very tranquil atmosphere for an airport!

Partnering for a Generational Legacy

Out of 2 Timothy 2:2 we find a premier related to the passing of the baton of ministry to the next generation...
"The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

When you join us in prayer ministry and regular financial partnership, you are investing in a movement of equipping a new generation for Christ and thereby partnering in a legacy for future ministry in the Philippines and beyond.

The seminarians Robert equips at BBSI are training for their calling to serve with excellence. The missionary kids Kim works with at Faith Academy need an education and to be challenged with the truth of the gospel, even while their parents serve in ministries all over the Philippines.

We are presently down in support by about 5% of our needs, which is common after arriving to the mission field again even after a long and fruitful furlough.  To invest in this work, simply click the button to go to ABWE's secure online donation page.  There you can arrange automatic monthly support.  All support donations are tax-deductible.

Click on the Equip logo and you will be directed to our website to know more about the vital ministries we are involved with in Manila and beyond.  It's been said that the Philippine Islands are the "gateway to Asia". Well, in regards to the gospel being taken to Asia that could very well be true as many young Filipino men and women are preparing for ministry even as missionaries in other Asian countries.  They need our prayers!  We need to help prepare them.  Click on the button to see my new ministry blog..."THRIVE!".
