Standing With One Another in Ministry

In Tagalog the title phrase above is, "Kapartner ko sa ministry" and it certainly reflects the kind of relationship I have with several men here in the local church setting.  I met this last week with my good friend, and oftentimes ministry partner, brother Yutaka Matsumoto, for mutual encouragement and prayer, as well as planning.

Besides partnering in ministry together here in Manila through Emmanuel Baptist, we  hope in the future to partner in training ministry elsewhere as well.  Yutaka has connections in a southern area of Japan where there is a retreat/training center and a Bible school.  We are praying and talking over the potential of arranging Approved Workman Training seminars in that area.  Please pray with us that the Lord will help us develop this potential ministry focus further.

Yutaka is a manager for a building & construction company by profession.  One of his company's present projects is the building of an airport on Bohol Island, which is where the famous Chocolate Hills are located.  This man’s devotion to the local church ministry, and to supporting our pastors so they can serve well, is very evident.  From my vantage point, they are all a great team together.  Time spent with Yutaka, for me, is always an inspiration.

Yutaka preaches regularly at EBC and often at their church plants,  as he did just yesterday.  He and I sometimes team teach the Sunday school among College Students and Young Professionals.  Please be in prayer for Yutaka and his family as he also serves at Emmanuel Baptist as the chairman of the Deacon Board. Thanks for praying!

Preparing Today for a Lifetime of Ministry

I have the privilege of teaching and training over 110 seminarians this semester in my pastoral ministry courses.  These young seminarians are hard at work preparing for a lifetime of ministry.  Part of that preparation is to test them along the way.

Prelim quiz week at BBSI is not everyone's favorite week. Everyone was hard at work though last Thursday taking their tests. I always tell them ahead of time it is an opportunity to evaluate their study habits... ie: what is working & what is not.  If gauged rightly it can show them where they are in their learning process.  Adjustments now can potentially prompt better learning in the future.

Please pray for my seminarians as they work on personal and group assignments the rest of the semester. Thanks for praying!

Partnering for a Generational Legacy!

The seminarians Robert equips at BBSI are training for their calling to serve with excellence. The missionary kids Kim works with at Faith Academy need an education and to be challenged with the truth of the gospel, even while their parents serve in ministries all over the Philippines.

Out of 2 Timothy 2:2 we find a premier related to the passing of the baton of ministry to the next generation... "The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

When you join us in prayer ministry and regular financial partnership, you are investing in a movement of equipping a new generation for Christ and thereby partnering in a legacy for future ministry in the Philippines and beyond.

We are presently down in support by about 5% of our pledged monthly needs, which is common after arriving to the mission field again even after a long and fruitful furlough.  To invest in this work, simply click the button to go to ABWE's secure online donation page.  There you can arrange automatic monthly support.  All support donations are tax-deductible.
