Partnering via Preaching at Muntindilaw Church Plant!

Excited about the opportunity this past Sunday morning to partner with Emmanuel Baptist members by preaching God‘s Word at the 2-year old EBC church plant known as Muntindilaw.  This is situated in the massive Cypress Village Subdivision in the direction of Cainta and Manila proper.  While others led in song and praise to the faithful brothers and sisters at Muntindilaw, I was fortunate to preach the Word of God out of Ephesians 5:1-2 again.

Pray for this church plant outreach where about 30 people regularly attend. Students out of the seminary known as CBS (The Center for Biblical Studies) are serving here regularly as a place of internship and partnership under Emmanuel Baptist leadership.  Thanks for praying!

EBC Preachers' Coalition

A joyful time last Monday evening with the preachers of Emmanuel Baptist as we gathered at the church.  Our focus was on encouraging one another towards improvement in our sermon prep and delivery. We all shared some of the positive tendencies we see in our sermon prep and/or delivery as well as personal challenges.

Having read a blog post on preaching by Jared C. Wilson, "21 Thoughts on Expository Preaching", just to energize our discussions, we found that we all are seeking improvement in some aspect or another. I sense we now have a sort of team spirit going!

We were joined by Pastor Erril Zapanta who preaches at the Floodway church plant. Please pray for us as we continue to encourage and resource one another in this ministry. Thanks for praying!

Take a Moment and Pray over Manila!

A recent view in the afternoon from the Antipolo Hills looking out towards the Manila city horizon as a small rain shower showed up.

We invite you to take a moment to pray over the picture of this city, that the Lord will use His Word and the witness of His people to lead the lost to Christ.  Pray too that they will be convicted of sin and recognize their need for the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Pray according to Psalm 97:1 for the Lord's power and dominion to be manifested in the lives of those who do not yet believe, "The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; Let the many islands be glad".  Thanks for praying!

And Now For Something(s) Completely Different!

So, sometimes traffic affords me a moment for a quick picture.  Bumper stickers and sayings are common here on the back of cars, but this one was more bold than others in its presentation!  Then, this afternoon, when I was leaving Faith Academy, I came upon this sight! They are working on the sewer or at least drainage so I guess this choice of signage totally works for the occasion! :)

Can You Sponsor a Training Resource(s)?

Our Emmanuel Baptist Ministry Enrichment Seminar has to be postponed and rescheduled.  BUT, this gives us opportunity to finish raising the resources for the attendees and perhaps get them sent here in time.  Those which have already been donated are being collected so that all can be sent together when we reach the goal.  We now have the following tally for the 3 seminar resources:

~  NKJV Holman Study Bibles (Large Print/Imitation Leather) - 8 donated (7 more to go!)
~  Spiritual Depression by Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones - 3 donated (11 more to go!)
~  Nine Marks of a Healthy Church, by Dr. Mark Dever - 5 donated (9 more to go!)

If you can help us by sponsoring a book or books for the training of those who serve in this church and its church plants & outreaches, then please click the button below.  If you want to just purchase them from Amazon without using the Amazon list, then you can have the book or books shipped to:  Jonathan Stout, 38065 Murrieta Creek Dr., Murrieta CA 92562.

(PS - this works best from a laptop/desktop browser or iPad...it's having troubles from an iPhone).  Thank you for your help in training God's people in the Philippines!

Partnering for a Generational Legacy!

The seminarians Robert equips at BBSI are training for their calling to serve with excellence. The missionary kids Kim works with at Faith Academy need an education and to be challenged with the truth of the gospel, even while their parents serve in ministries all over the Philippines.

Out of 2 Timothy 2:2 we find a premier related to the passing of the baton of ministry to the next generation... "The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

When you join us in prayer ministry and regular financial partnership, you are investing in a movement of equipping a new generation for Christ and thereby partnering in a legacy for future ministry in the Philippines and beyond.

We are presently down in support by about 5% of our pledged monthly needs, which is common after arriving to the mission field again even after a long and fruitful furlough.  To invest in this work, simply click the button to go to ABWE's secure online donation page.  There you can arrange automatic monthly support.  All support donations are tax-deductible.

Well, in regards to the gospel being taken to Asia that could very well be true as many young Filipino men and women are preparing for ministry even as missionaries in other Asian countries.  They need our prayers!  We need to help prepare them.  Click on the button to see my new ministry blog..."THRIVE!".
