| HELP Foundation would like to thank everyone that helped make this year‘s Fabulous Casino Night a success. Casino Night is a wonderful event and it wouldn‘t be possible without the assistance of countless people who help prepare ahead of time. Thank you to everyone that sponsored, helped promote the event, came to the event or donated. This truly was a community event and we can't thank you enough for helping to make the day possible!

 Tons of Raffle Baskets Guests browsed over 40 raffle baskets with prizes that included Cavs playoff tickets, Kevin Love and Peyton Manning autographed gear, luxurious downtown stays and so much more!
|  Games A big THANK YOU to Jackpot Games for showing us how to play Roulette, Blackjack, Craps and Texas Hold'em. The wonderful dealers really showed us how to level up our gaming skills!

| Stories of Success During Developmental Disabilities Month Dominique is a young lady who became part of the Help Foundation Day Support Program in March of 2016. Dominique and her family moved to Cleveland from New Orleans shortly before the devastation of Hurricane Issac.
When Dominique first selected our program she was shy, lacked confidence and was withdrawn. But over the past 18 months we have observed Dominique blossom before our eyes!
Today, Dominique is outgoing and
extroverted. She even holds the cabinet seat, Secretary of Socialization. This position is quite important, not only for welcoming the new participants into the program, but maintaining a sense of unity throughout. In this position, Dominique excels. She celebrates her friend’s birthdays, acknowledges the losses of peers and cares for the all-around well-being of her peers and even sends personalized cards!
Dominique shared that she found her four best friends thanks to HELP’s program. She has enjoyed discovering what her new community has to offer through travel training activities with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority. Another contributing factor to Dominique’s success, is her ability to work within Help U Shred, HELPS’s vocational training program where she earns extra money. “Working at HELP U Shred gives me freedom and money for new
clothes!” Dominique explained.
As Dominique continues to gain employable skills, she would like to eventually obtain competitive community employment. Here at the Help Foundation, we hope to assist her with her continued growth, toward her ultimate goal!

Tax Changes May Impact HELP
The 2018 tax bill signed into law late last year might result in fewer individual donations to HELP Foundation due to changes in the amount of the standard deduction. These changes may mean that your gifts to support our work no longer have as big of an impact on your tax return next April. We want you to know that our mission remains as important as ever and our responsible use of your gifts means you can be assured that your generosity goes to support the people we are honored to care for.
Tax laws are not the only changes HELP is facing. Changing government funding, oversight, and policies continue to offer challenges to our continued success, as well as opportunities for growth. It is through your generous contributions that we are able to meet these challenges and prepare to capitalize on opportunities to improve and expand services. We hope that even if your donations are not deductible on your 2018 taxes that you will continue to believe in our mission to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live as respected and valued members of their communities. Your contributions make a real difference in the lives of our consumers!

| HELP Employees Gather to Review Best Practices. On Friday, March 16th the HELP staff gathered at RollHouse Entertainment in Wickliffe to unite for a staff retreat.
HELP Foundation aims to ensure that all staff work together as one team in order to provide the best services and experiences possible to those we serve. In order to make this happen it is crucial that our employees are clear about their roles and expectations. Staff retreats encourage open communication, restore
balance and help identify any unique employee contributions.
After business was conducted, everyone at the retreat was broken into bowling teams. Each team had to figure out how to cohesively work together to accomplish some pretty tough bowling challenges. The day was meant to get employees out of the office, mingling across different departments with other HELP staff they have not met before, and to have fun. It was a self-care day for everyone who attended and a ‘thank you’ to all the hard work they do on a daily basis. The day was a success and many employees were asking when the next one would occur.

 | Thank You For Your Service, Susie! In March, we said goodbye to longtime HELP Program Manager, Susie. Susie spent many years managing our HELP Housing, Regency and Hillside locations. Her bright smile and expertise will be missed but we wish her many years of joy and relaxation. Congratulations on your retirement, Susie!
