Important survey for corn producers

Email Header
Dear Grain Farmers of Ontario member,

This fall has been very difficult for many Ontario corn producers, as they grapple with higher than normal levels of DON in their corn. Grain Farmers of Ontario is working hard to engage the industry and government in finding workable and timely solutions to this pressing issue.

One of the hurdles we face is the lack of reliable information on the extent and impact of the problem. While we have heard from many of you, and we know that the situation is serious, we need a more quantifiable assessment to make our case to government.

This is why I am asking you to help us in gathering this critical data.

In the next few days, you will receive an email inviting you to participate in an online survey. Please take the time to fill it out, whether you have a DON issue or not.

The survey will be conducted by Kynetec Canada (formerly Ipsos Agriculture & Animal Health), a third party research firm.

The survey takes less than 5 minutes to fill out and your individual answers are completely confidential.

Only aggregate data will be used for analysis; individual producers will be assigned numbers so that producer names will remain confidential.

Depending on our findings, we may conduct several other surveys as harvest progresses.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to fill out this survey with Kynetec.

If you have any further question about the project or the survey, please contact Rob Gamble, Grain Farmers of Ontario Chief Economist, at rgamble@gfo.ca or 226-979-6519. For additional resources and information about DON in corn, visit www.gfo.ca/DON.

Sincerely
