The Park Board would like to thank all the park activators that have participated, organized and supported the work in Vancouver parks this year; 2019 has been filled with amazing opportunities to connect with nature and each other. The variety of activations we‘ve had in Vancouver this year is because of the diverse network of people that care for and about parks. We are excited to carry this energy forward into 2020 and continue to work alongside the people that make Vancouver parks special.

Park Partner and Volunteer Appreciation Event Where 181 Roundhouse Mews, Vancouver, BC, Canada Description The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation would like to invite you to our annual Park Partner and Volunteer Appreciation Event on Friday, December 6th at the Roundhouse Theatre (181 Roundhouse Mews - Davie @ Pacific Blvd) from 5-8pm. Enjoy delicious food, and connect with park staff and fellow park activators as we celebrate your amazing work.
Agenda • Welcome • Key speaker: Selena Couture • Dinner and Celebration
We are excited to have Selena Couture, co-author of On this Patch of Grass: City Parks on Occupied Land, as a guest speaker for the evening. On This Patch of Grass is an investigation into one small urban park — Vancouver‘s Victoria Park, or Bocce Ball Park — as a way to interrogate the politics of land. The book is a collaborative exercise between one white family and some friends looking at the park from a variety of
perspectives, asking what we might say about this patch of grass, and what kinds of occupation might this place imply.
Please RSVP by emailing parkstewards@vancouver.ca by Thursday, Dec 5th. | Add To Calendar | |
