| Kindness Rocks! The
Tri-Cities Together: Coalition against Racism & Hate is embarking on an exciting public awareness & education campaign. Using painted rocks to share stories and messages of kindness, inclusion and acceptance, the project will engage the public on the impacts of racism & discrimination and how to respond to these incidents. The rocks will be placed on trails, parks, and public spaces where residents gather across the Tri-Cities. We are looking for groups or individuals to help paint rocks and to share stories to empower others to be an ally against racism & discrimination. Contact

Construction Set To Start On Coquitlam YMCA and Amenities
Construction is set to start on a unique partnership project that will bring a new YMCA recreation facility, an expanded Cottonwood Park, a Park-and-Ride, a Community Police Station and more housing options to Burquitlam over the next three years.The $77-million project will generate about $100 million in new community amenities, including expanded and improved parks and a YMCA that is double the size of the original community centre Coquitlam had planned for the site, with a pool and other features the City had not envisioned in its original

 | Entrepreneurship Connections® Entrepreneurship Connections® is a three-week, innovative and informative entrepreneurship training program led by ACCES Employment in partnership with S.U.C.C.E.S.S. It is tailored specifically for newcomers (Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees) who are ready to start a business. The program provides training, mentoring and other supports, and program participants will develop essential skills and related knowledge to successfully start business in

Newcomer Entrepreneur Success Team (NEST) Initiative As part of the newly launched “Newcomer Entrepreneur Success Team” Initiative (NEST), BDC has now a dedicated team to support newcomer entrepreneur businesses looking to start, grow or buy a business. Additionally, a Newcomer Entrepreneur Website is in place with the option to read information in eight (8) languages (Traditional and simplified Chinese, Arabic, Tagalog, Punjabi, Spanish, English and French). This will ensure
entrepreneurs are more comfortable with complex information before taking decisive steps. Entrepreneurs can also access NEST advisory and coaching team when they are or soon to be at the growth stage of their business. Launched In Sept 2019, the e-learning modules on “How to Start a Business in Canada” by BDC are now live. These business modules were built specifically for newcomers, but are accessible and free of cost to all. Take a look at the interactive sessions, a self assessment map and different videos to assist newcomers in their business planning.
