Guided Meditation to Help You Relax

You can practice with these guided meditation recordings from this website, or download them onto your portable device. It‘s OK if it seems a little weird at first. To get the hang of it, you may wish to try practicing with a particular recording at the same time, every day, for a week. Once you‘ve got the feel for it, you can decide whether to continue using the recordings, or instead, just guide yourself using your own inner voice. (Caution: Please do not listen to these recordings while driving or operating machinery.)

Saturday Schedule

Saturday Meeting

We will meet this Saturday, April 11 on Zoom. The meeting will only be the general meeting so it will only go from 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM. Everyone is required to attend.

Rules for Zoom Meetings
As we rely more on Zoom to keep in contact we need to set some rules for how Zoom should be used.
1. Real names need to be used at all times. If you sign on and your name is not your real name then just right click your name in Participants and click "rename". We export the data for the Department of Education right from Zoom and they will not like seeing wrong names on our datasheets.
2. All students will need to show their cameras. Due to some concerns if students are actually paying attention or even present we will need to be able to see your face. Plus, we miss seeing you all!
3. When in big groups be sure to mute your mic if you are not speaking.
4. You need to participate. Zoom shows us your attentiveness percentage throughout the meeting and we need everyone to be at 100%.
5. Please be respectful of other's time to speak.

SENIORS

Send your college acceptance photos to Eva Silvia or Martika.

Also, be sure that you are checking your email. Eva Silvia has been sending you all emails about important information. Always be sure to acknowledge the emails to show you have received it. A simple "okay" or "thank you" response is appreciated.

UBJECTIVES

The deadline for UBjectives is less than three weeks away. You need to have five UBjectives completed plus attendance/communication UBjectives. If you do not received attendance/communication UBjective than you will need to make that one up by doing another one.

ZOOM MEETING

Knowing that this isolation away from your normal social life can be taken it‘s toll and we would like to help with that. If you are interested in hosting a Zoom meeting, similar to the UB Breakfast, just tell a staff member and we will make it happen. For example, if you would like to have a watch party or a study group or just open a Zoom meeting to just chill we can do it all. We want you all to be able to continue to have that social aspect of TRIO UB.
TRIO UB Calendar
yd2
We know there has been a lot of messages sent out to you all on GroupMe and we know it can be overwhelming especially with all your teachers sending out messages too. To help decrease our message we will rely on using TRIO UB‘s Google Calendar to share upcoming events and important dates with you all. To stay in the know click the “Add Calendar” button below.

Disney is Offering a Free Online Course in How to Be an Imagineer

Walt Disney Imagineering is the creative engine that designs and builds all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions, and cruise ships worldwide, and oversees the creative aspects of Disney games, merchandise product development, and publishing businesses.

If you've ever wanted to step into the shoes of a Disney Imagineer, now's your chance.

Khan Academy and Pixar have teamed up with Walt Disney Imagineers to create Imagineering in a Box, a free online course that gives you a behind-the-scenes peek into the theme park design.

Whether you've always wondered how Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge was created or you're a huge fan of classic Disney rides, there's something in this course for everyone.

According to a Disney Parks blog post from Josh Gorin, a creative development executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, the course will feature over 30 videos from Imagineers, interactive activities, and case-studies from the Disney Parks.

The course takes students through three lessons. The first is named "Creating Worlds," and it illustrates the process of creating a themed land, including land layout and landscape. Imagineers talk about the integration of all the senses into the land through visual design, smell, sounds, foods, and more.

The second lesson is all about designing attractions, and it includes a ride simulator exercise.

The third and final lesson is dedicated to characters — including character concepts and animatronics. Listen as Imagineers take you step by step through the creation of themed lands and attractions, and use exercises to test your new skills and get creative.

Free Photography Course from Nikon

Nikon has made its entire curriculum of online photography classes free until the end of April.

Now through April 30th, all 10 classes available at the Nikon School can be streamed for free. The classes are normally priced anywhere between $15 to $50 each.

Each class is taught by a professional photographer and provides in-depth lessons to help you get better at taking photos. Some courses cover Nikon-specific products, but many of them teach you the fundamentals of photography, such as a course that teaches you how to photograph your children or pets or the basics of making a music video. So even if you don‘t own a Nikon camera, many of these classes might still be worth a watch.

One-on-One School Meetings

We know some people would like to discuss more personal things during school visits or have more time for them so per request Martika will do an individual school visit for students who would like one. To request an individual visit fill out the form below
