Dr. Bonnie Henry Makes Special Address to B.C. Educators and Support Staff

Dr. Bonnie Henry has made a special video address to educators and support staff in the province. Beginning by offering her thanks to all educators, Dr. Henry says, “During these challenging times – teachers and educational assistants are doing important work, finding innovative ways to support and instruct B.C. children. Thank you for creating virtual classrooms – and making time for extra connections with your students.”

As we continue to flatten the COVID-19 curve in B.C., we have to maintain the supports established for the children of our essential service workers and make sure we continue to expand the provision of in-person support for vulnerable students. Understanding that physical distancing in classrooms can be challenging, the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) has included on its website guidance for how to keep you and your students safe. Efforts include taking students outside more often, staggering lunch and recess breaks, working in smaller groups and committing to extra cleaning. For more information please see the BCCDC website.
