Meaningful Remote Learning Experiences for Students

Across the province, educators are working hard to design meaningful remote learning experiences for their students and to foster a strong sense of belonging and community.

SD23: Central Okanagan has launched two new continuity of learning resources to facilitate peer learning and sharing. The Together We Learn weekly newsletter spotlights gratitude for teachers, shares learning stories from educators around the district, and features new educational resources. The Together We Learn website has resources, links, templates and documents reflecting the B.C. Ministry of Education Continuity of Learning Guidelines, trauma-informed practices, and principles of learning that support how students learn best.

“As a system, we know this isn‘t distance learning or home learning...this is a new kind of learning at home. The heart of this learning is not technology, it is connection. Success in learning at this moment is harnessing the wellbeing and self-efficacy of both learners and teachers through our connections with each other. We are in this together.”
