This summer, the Global Centre for Pluralism, in partnership with the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, is offering free virtual professional development sessions for Canadian educators on how to support conversations about race in the learning environment.
The 2-hour small group sessions will provide educators with key definitions and concepts to open conversations and invite student engagement. Participants will walk away with techniques that help them listen with intent, validate emotion, model empathy and challenge students to question their own biases and assumptions. The goal is to provide participants the tools to facilitate challenging conversations that hold space for emotions.
Sessions will be available at the beginning of July and end of August and space is limited.
