More French Language Resources at Your Local Library

Did you know that B.C. has the 4th largest francophone population in Canada? Between 2006 and 2016, the number of people whose mother tongue is French increased by 9% and the number of people who speak French most often at home increased by 21%. Over the last 10 years, the French Immersion student population in the province has increased by about 21% and the Francophone student population has increased by about 39%.

With the increasing popularity of French Education programs in B.C., there is also an increasing demand for more and better French content in B.C. public libraries. Now, thanks to funding from the Province of B.C. and the Government of Canada, B.C.‘s small- and medium-sized libraries are proud to offer a new collection of French e-Content via the BC Libraries‘ Library2Go platform. The Collection includes fiction and non-fiction titles for kids, for young adults, and for adults.

Check out some of these great new resources from your local library. Happy reading!
