The Power of Relationships
Positive relationships can make all of the difference for us as educators and for our students. John Hattie (2018) identifies collective teacher efficacy as the resounding greatest difference-maker for student achievement. We‘re All New This Year: How Advice for Rookie Teachers Can Help Everyone During Virtual Learning

A 15-year veteran speaks to feeling like a rookie again as she begins remote teaching. Reflecting on what she has learned that has contributed to her success, including creating her own chosen “board of advisors” of colleagues connections, has been key to finding balance and professional inspiration.
Teacher-Student Connections

A positive relationship with one caring adult can make all of the difference in the life of a child.

Positive student-teacher relationships improve both teacher and student wellness, and are predictive of improved student social-emotional capacity and development, increased academic engagement and performance, reduced bullying and victimization, and lower drop-out rates, among other benefits. Amid complexities of COVID realities, relationships are more important than ever, and building those across different learning environments calls for uniquely creative intentionality. Harvard's Relationship Mapping Strategy is one way to stay connected across multiple learning environments.

Focusing on Student Well-Being in Challenging Times

Once student practices are accessed, then incorporations of other wellness strategies are introduced.
