4. What I Learned in Class Today Renewed Project: Faculty Perspective Videos

The What I Learned in Class Today Renewed Project is a continuation of the original What I Learned in Class Today: Aboriginal Issues in the Classroom, where Indigenous students shared their problematic experiences from their time at UBC. The renewed project continues this work by asking similar questions around experiences of campus and classroom climate on Indigenous topics and issues from both a student and faculty view.

The renewed project has released two 20 minute films entitled Faculty Perspectives, featuring experiences shared by Indigenous and non-Indigenous faculty members. Part One focuses on the larger institutional climate at UBC surrounding Indigenous topics, while Part Two looks more towards what happens within the classroom. The project team hopes by having two short 20 minute films, these can be screened in the classroom and followed with a discussion around the themes that were raised in the film.
