Attendance If you have to miss a Saturday for any reason, you are required to make up the work from each class on Canvas. You will need to complete each classes' work by the following Wednesday at 11:59 PM. If you do not have access to the Internet please inform a staff member immediately. If you are absent for more than 5 Saturdays we will talk about exiting you from the program. | Communication If you are going to be absent, text, call in, or email staff members. Do not wait until Saturday afternoon to communicate your absence. Also, be respectful of UB staff; do not text or call after 10 pm or before 7 am.

Doodle for Google
The Doodle 4 Google competition is offered annually for students in grades K-12. To apply, one must submit a sketch or image including the Google logo in the context of this year's theme. All doodles must be sent no later than the deadline. Click here to learn more and apply today! Application requirements for the Doodle for Google are:

Additional Information: Doodle for Google is an annual program that invites K-12 students in the United States to use their artistic talents to think big and redesign the Google homepage logo for millions to see. The winner’s artwork will be published as an interactive doodle on Google.com in addition to other scholarships and prizes that are available. Award selection will be based upon the following qualities: artistic skill and technique; creativity and originality;
effective representation of the current year's topic; and adherence to all official rules and requirements. Any submissions that contain derogatory, offensive, or copyrighted content will be immediately disqualified.
Award Amount: $30,000 annually, non-renewable for the national winner. The winning applicant's school will also receive a $50,000 technology grant. National finalists will receive $5,000 for educational expenses. The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $150,000.

- Must be currently enrolled in grades K-12.
- Must have an interest in drawing and visual art.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. | Submission In order to apply for this award, the applicant must submit a drawing which incorporates the Google logo and this year's competition theme. Applications must be signed by a parent, guardian, or teacher and mailed to the provider. Parents and teachers may also submit a student's work through the online application. All submissions must be received by the deadline date.

TSI Exemptions You need to start looking at getting your TSI scores! If you took the TSI for a dual credit class then you will need to ask your counselors for your scores. If you are exempt from the TSI you will need your ACT/SAT score instead.
The Texas Succes Initiative law requires every college entering student to demonstrate readiness in reading, writing, and math by earning an acceptable score in each area on the TSI Assessment unless you prove an exemption. The following list shows different ways students may qualify as being exempt from the TSI. Please review the exemption options below to see if you qualify.
