International Women‘s Day Celebration
Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce. March 8th, 11:00 am - 1:30 pm. Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club 3251 Plateau Boulevard, Coquitlam | International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. International Women‘s Day 2022 includes keynote speakers Robyn Chisholm (VP, Commercial Banking, Scotiabank) and Christine Mackenzie (First Nation Artist, Sneaky Native Art) as well as panelists Julia Chung (CEO, Spring Plans & Admin Slayer) and Armin Amrolia (Deputy City Manager, City of Vancouver). All attendees are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry to indoor organized events. Please note that we will be checking photo ID and scanning the vaccine QR Code.

Free Income Tax Clinic
MOSAIC. March 1st, 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm. MOSAIC | Volunteers are providing virtual filing support for immigrants with modest incomes! To be eligible for MOSAIC's filing services: an individual must be a Permanent Resident or Protected Person, with a total Family Income below: 1 Individual: $ 35,000 | 2 Individuals: $ 45,000 + $ 2,500 for each additional household member (up to $52,500). Those who are not eligible include individuals who have business or rental income and expenses, overseas income, interest income over $1,000, capital gains or losses, those who are self-employed with a business license or expense deductions, a deceased person, those with disability claims, and those who have filed for bankruptcy.

Free Residential Emergency Preparedness Training
City of Port Coquitlam. March 5th from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at Fire Hall #1 1725 Broadway, Port Coquitlam. An emergency can arise quickly and without warning. Residents should be prepared to be on their own for at least 72 hours in an emergency, be it a power outage, severe storm, flood, earthquake or other emergency. Port Coquitlam‘s Emergency Preparedness Program prepares civic employees, residents and businesses for the effects of a disaster or major emergency. The City has trained employees in emergency operations and personal family preparedness, and has obtained a variety of resources to assist the community in the event of an emergency.

Neurodiverse Parenting
Westcoast Family Centres (WFC). March 7th, 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm | Learning or suspecting that your child may have a cognitive challenge can be confusing and stressful? Join this support group for parents with neurodiverse chidren (ages 2-17). Neurological differences may include: ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), dyspraxia, dyslexia, brain damage, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), and learning difficulties. Your child does not need to have a diagnosis for you to participate in the group. WFC Parent Educator Kristy will provide information relating to: understating neurodiversity; tools and strategies that can support your child to function in day to day life; being an effective advocate for your child; appreciating the impact of neurodiversity on the whole family and how to support themselves, your other children and your relationship; and linking the group to support

Join this dialogue session with a legal navigator from Justice Education Society and a police officer. AMSSATalk: Indigenous Leaders' Circle
March 2nd, 10:00 am - 12:30 pm | In this AMSSATalk, Indigenous Leaders will engage in a dialogue about truth, reconciliation, and decolonization. The purpose is for settlement providers to learn from the stewards of this land; to share, listen, and build relations by respectfully participating in a discussion and asking questions. The Indigenous Leaders‘ Circle will continue the conversation on key themes including, Indigenous Worldview versus Colonized Worldview, the concept that we all have our own Indigeneity, intergenerational trauma and the inherited survivor spirit, and Decolonization. Katie Crocker, AMSSA‘s CEO, will facilitate a free-flowing discussion with four Indigenous Leaders, Norm Leech, Tabatha Frank, Lorelei Williams, and JB the First Lady.
