Assessment drives our planning and programming with all of our students at any grade level. We also want to make sure "we never do one iota, one second, one minute of extra assessment that we don't have to unless it answers a key question that makes us better teachers" (Dr. Jan Hasbrouck).

Knowing the different types of assessments (i.e. universal screeners, diagnostics, progress-monitoring, etc.) for different purposes and the options or examples available positions us to make those decisions with greater ease and efficacy.
