TRIO Upward Bound (UB) is a pre-college program that not only assists high school students in completing high school but also pursue and completing post-secondary education. UB teaches students about college entrance exams, college choices, preparing for college while still in high school, and so much more.
TRIO UB offers a wide range of services that help students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to successfully graduate high school.

Application Advice
- Don't have someone else write your essay. It is obvious when someone else is writing and it doesn't look good for you.
- The essay should have at least three paragraphs (one for each question).
- Be sure any place that requires a signature is signed! You have to sign the second page!
- Not doing well/failing a class does not mean you won't get into the program so be sure you add the report card! If you do not have access to printing your report card, email it to us and we will print it!
- Please do not put your insurance card in the envelope. If you need to make a copy, tell a staff member.
- Do not bring your Social Security card.
- If you do not have all your recommendation forms, that is okay! Remember, those are not due until November.

Interview Tips 1. Be sure you pay attention to each member's name and use that information throughout the interview. 2. Don't give short, two-word responses. Always try to expand on your answers. 3. Ask at least one question at the end of the interview (this shows interest). (Ideas: Why did you decide to join the program? What has been the best thing about being a member? If you could go back, would you join the program all over again? etc.) 4. You're amazing so be sure to make sure they know that. Don't downplay your accomplishments and wins! 5. Be honest. 6. Understand your abilities and why you want to be a part of the program. 7. At the end of the interview thank them for their time.

| On your application...
"Be sure to include your essay in your application. It really helps me when I'm scoring since it gives me a look into who you are as a person and not just your academics. Use this as a way for staff to peak into your personality!" - Martika
