Articles Written - 71 both in print and online
Local and community newspapers were so supportive. Thank you! Daily Liberal in Dubbo and Barrier Truth in the West NSW to the Central Coast Community News on the Coast were some of the media outlets that helped us tell our story. We also had online articles in NIT, Reddit.com and Mamamia.com

|
|
| Twitter Posts - a few We weren‘t very vocal on Twitter during the 2022 campaign. Twitter was very successful for us in garnering members to enable to Party to be registered.
|

|
|
Facebook Posts - 156 with 21,000 likes During the election we used Facebook to let everyone know what we were doing. It was a great success as people all over Australia tagged Indigenous Aboriginal party of Australia in their posts - - people standing in the rain on polling day handing out how to vote cards, supporters putting our corflutte signs up everywhere.
As a grassroots party we loved how this election helped create so many connections and community.
We have a Facebook account that is really designed for friends only. We have the maximum number of friends 5000 and 660 followers.

| Flyers printed and distributed - At least 15000 With the help of our volunteers, supporters, and fantastic members of public, that emailed and said…..”send me some flyers, I will do a letter box drop!” We distributed at least 15,000 flyers all over NSW and QLD.
Obviously our goal is to have candidates in all states and territories.
From little things big things grow

How to Vote Cards printed and handed out at pre-polling and polling day - 4321 Doc from Toongabbie, Sydney‘s west, texted us to say….”Darcy Rd Public School – 30 flyers accepted 0800-0930, Toongabbie East PS 0940-1020 400 accepted!!!!” This was indicative of the day. Our supporters were amazing. They printed the HTV themselves and went to their local polling booth and handed them out. What a lovely example of a grassroots organisation in action.

When you consider Lionel‘s trip to nth Qld, and Uncle Owen and Derek going back and forth to Sydney from Broken Hill and Jeff‘s trips from Sydney to the Central Coast. Then add on all the k‘s done in our local areas to speak to local members, media, letter box drops and community events.

Uncle Owen outlined our policies and reasons for running while Derek answered questions and had them rolling in the isles with his wit and good humor in Narrabri. Uncle Owen received a call from a farmer after the Dubbo Forum who said, “I didn‘t know who to vote for, but now I do.” The Hindu Council of Australia invited Uncle Owen and Derek to talk about our policies at their event. The said the Hindus have a lot in common with Indigenous issues and were a fantastic support. More friends were made. Jeff Lawson wowed the big turnout at the rowdy Copacabana Community Forum for Robertson Candidates.

Radio and other media appearances - Heaps
We really did receive a lot of support from radio and media outlets. Koori Radio, Redfern, was so supportive and interviewed Uncle Owen and Derek in the week before the election. Thank you Lola for your patience in rounding up our candidates and the tech issues we rose above. Jenny-Lee had a hard-hitting radio ad on Star 102.7 fm and 4CA in Cairns and on River 94.9 in Brisbane/Ipswich where it was recorded. There were 100 x 30 slots in Cairns before the media blackout on the Wednesday before the election. We had 100 + slots on ’River‘ in Qld. Nearly all the candidates appeared on Bumma Bippera in Cairns on ’TalkBlack‘ with Trevor Tim which is syndicated nationally. ’The Point‘ show on NITV covered the Qld launch and the all day meet and greet in King George
Square Brisbane.

This result proves that Indigenous people are enrolled to vote and have given us their vote!
And we will never forget the people of the Parkes electorate in NSW where we received over 5% of the vote. Deadly effort!

The data in this newsletter is as close as we can approximate. It's just to give you an idea of what is involved in an election with 7 candidates, in 2 states, for a brand new party.
Our aim is to have candidates in every state and territory..to do this we need more people to give us a hand....and also more Indigenous people to say "I could be a candidate! I could do that!" I am full on passionate about Indigenous rights and issues in this country, I want a voice.!" That's how it starts. This is YOUR PARTY
